Electrek American Solar Challenge 2026

Route Alignment
We are largely following 2 National Scenic Byways: the Great River Road and the Mother Road (Route 66), with a small diversion to get over to Normal, IL in order to pick up Route 66 there versus going straight to the St. Louis area. Our ASC route will deviate from the official byways in a few locations based on road and traffic conditions. Stay tuned for the official route steps.

Celebrating America250
We are excited to announce, through our events this summer, we will be commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence 250 years ago as a Supporting Partner of America250!

America250 is the national nonpartisan organization charged by Congress to celebrate and commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The organization aims to inspire fellow Americans to reflect on our past, strengthen our love of country, and renew our commitment to the ideals of democracy through programs that educate, engage, and unite us as a nation. America250 will foster shared experiences that spark imagination, showcase the rich tapestry of our American stories, inspire service in our communities, honor the enduring strength, and celebrate the resilience of the United States of America.

We are pleased to announce the Electrek American Solar Challenge 2026, showcasing innovation, providing hands-on education, and engaging communities along the 1500+ mile route. Additionally, we will be logging volunteer hours as part of America250’s America Gives initiative to make 2026 the largest year of volunteerism in U.S. history.

Route Drive
A few members of our route development team will be hitting the road. On this trip, we will be determining the exact route the solar cars will follow, documenting the route steps, and meeting with each of our host sites to work out the layout for their location. Follow along on social media as our team posts updates from the road. We look forward to visiting your location over this 10 day trip!
